  • Our patients choose male rhinoplasty for their own personal reasons that often include:

    • Addressing the shape or size of the nose
    • Repairing damage caused by an accident and injury
    • Improving or restoring breathing
    • Complementing other facial surgeries, such facelift (rhytidectomy) or chin surgery (genioplasty).

Dr Drielsma will assess and discuss your nose, and the balance of your facial features with you. It is not uncommon to mention chin projection. A ‘weak’ chin may make the nose appear large for the face. In this situation, Dr Drielsma may discuss chin augmentation (genioplasty) with you. The profile of the nose can be altered to give a straight appearance or a softer “retruse” appearance with relative tip projection.
Dr Drielsma will discuss and clarify these options with you at time of consultation.

Rhinoplasty is usually performed under general anesthetic with a one-night hospital stay. The procedure takes about 1 to 2 hours, although more complicated procedures can take longer to complete. Most incisions are concealed inside the nose or along its natural creases, eventually leaving no noticeable evidence of the surgery.
